Coordinator: Energy Cities

Energy Cities is the European Association of local authorities in energy transition representing over 1000 members from 30 countries.

The network has been empowering local authorities in the implementation of local sustainable energy policies for more than 25 years. Energy Cities’ premises are located in Brussels (BE) and Besançon (FR).

It has developed expertise and knowledge of European and local policies and funding instruments, networking, communication and capacity building activities along with growing know-how of innovative local financing mechanisms.

énergies demain’s expertise is highly recognized in France and Europe. énergies demain accompanied the first French public and public-private operators such as Energie Posit’IF or Picardie Pass Rénovation in the development and implementation of their business models.

In June 2013, énergies demain contributed to the working group formed by Caisse des Dépôts & Consignations in order to prepare a report on the financing of energy-efficient renovation of private housing, and also participated in the elaboration of the proposals of the Association of the Regions of France regarding legislative modifications in order to develop third-party financing schemes.

énergies demain is also coordinating a ‘PUCA working group’ of local and regional authorities on this subject.
